About the pudl/poodle

Nope.  Poodles or in their native country Pudl is German.  They originally bred in Germany s duck hunters like a Labrador.  They have webbed fee to make it easier to swim.

The poodle trim was designed to protect the dogs when they were retrieving ducks in cold water in Germany in the winter.  Bracelets on the legs to keep the joints warm,  rosettes on the hips to keep those joints warm and the rest of the fur - the jacket - to keep their organs protected from the cold.  Of course they weren't all full hairspray in the 1900s see pictures.
