Our Story
I started showing miniature poodles (over 10 inches tall and under 15 inches tall) in high school. I have been health testing and breeding miniature and standard poodles for over 30 years. I currently concentrate only on the Standards. I have 1 Champion and 1 Grand Champion that i bred. All my dogs are from health tested Champion and Grand Champion lines.
Caring for a pet poodle
Before deciding on a poodle please keep in mind the costs of owning. Aside from the usual pet care of vaccines, spay/neuter etc, poodles require grooming every 4 - 6 weeks depending on how long the hair is. For a standard poodle that can be $150 plus tip for each groom. Good dog food to keep your dog in top shape is $25 for 8lbs up to 125 for 30lbs..
Purchasing a Poodle
Shop for your new family member by care - not price. Poodles have some hereditary health issues which ethical Breeders ae trying hard to breed away from. A puppy's parents should both have a CHIC #. This is issued by OFA.org and results can viewed on thier website. It indicates that minimum amount of testing suggested by Poodle Club of America before breeding poodle parents. There should be a contract indicating your responsibilities to the dog and the Breeders responsibility.
